Drum stick,also locally known as morninga,is a rich nutrient super food that has been cultivated in india for centuries ago.Tanka Sabar’s Venture into farming was not a spontaneous decision.He observed the potential of modern agriculture techniques and the challenges faced by the local farmers in his locality,he saw an opportunity .in tanka’s local area ,the cultivation of moringa was relatively scarce,depending on other markets for supply.Recognising the potential of morninga farming he saw an opportunity in it.he took calculated risk and decided to venture in drum stick farming with the help of the department of horticulture and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme.

Tanka’s approach to sustainable practices and innovation to moringa farming is a testament to his commitment towards the agriculture sector.He implemented the cultivation programme successfully on his 2.5-acres plot,which promotes the high value crops.to maximize the efficiency,he has incorporated various modern techniques such as drip irrigation,mulching and single line trellis system.Not only this to boost his yields, the department of horticulture played a pivotal role by providing regular guidance and updates on best practices.

Tanka’s dedication bore fruit quickly.so far,he harvested an impressive drum sticks of 15 quintals 1500kg) ,which he sells in the nearby markets of Padmapur and Gumuda .The demand of Morninga is high ,with the crop fetching attractive prices ranging from rupees 50 to 60 per kilogram.This steady return on investment(ROI) is just the beginning,it fueled his ambition to expand his farming operations.Tanka also cultivated other vagetables ,including Potal(Pointed Gourd),Brinjal,Vendy (ladies Finger), and Green Chilly, multiplying his income sources and ensuring financial stability.
