'Eyes'(Chakshu) to keep a close eye on online criminals

Eye Portal will keep a close eye on the activities of cyber criminals. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has launched this eye portal under the joint efforts of the Central Government. Also, complaints regarding spam calls, suspected fake SMS or WhatsApp messages can be lodged through this portal. People can also report suspicions related to lottery offers, job scams, KIC update number fraud etc. The eye portal will help in maintaining transparency and vigilance in the telecom sector
Ashwini Vaishnav informed on this occasion that in the last 9 months more than 1 crore mobile numbers have been deactivated due to illegal activity.
Communications, Railways and Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Baisnav in the presence of Minister of State for Communications Debasingh Chouhan has launched 'Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP)' and 'Chathu' system of Department of Telecom to coordinate among stakeholders to prevent misuse of telecom resources in cyber crime and financial fraud. Sanchar Saathi Portal (https://sancharsaathi.gov.in) is a pioneering initiative to empower citizens to proactively report suspected fraud-related communications.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that under the Secure India project, the government is making continuous efforts at three levels, national, organizational and individual, to prevent cyber fraud. The Department of Telecommunications has taken several steps to create awareness among citizens so that they can redress their grievances and protect themselves from cyber fraud.
Mr. Vaishnab mentioned about the 'Sanchar Samtha' portal in this connection and said that it has helped in successfully countering such attacks. The Minister stated that this tool, combining today's two portals, DIP and Eye, will further increase the capacity and efficiency to manage any type of cyber security threat.
Minister of State for Communications Shri Debasinghe Chouhan lauded the efforts of the Department, which he said had successfully completed several projects to combat cyber security threats. He said that many more such projects are being built to combat new and innovative fraud.
Telecom Secretary Dr. Niraj Mittal, in his opening remarks, said that these two new portals are another step to combat cyber security threats to every citizen's digital assets. He pointed out that these tools will help prevent any kind of fraudulent means and misuse of communication systems.
Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP):
The Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) developed by the Department of Telecom is a secure and integrated platform for real-time intelligence sharing, information exchange and coordination among stakeholders such as Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Banks and Financial Institutions (FIs). , social media platforms, identity document issuing authorities etc. The portal also contains information about cases identified as misuse of telecom resources. The information shared can be useful to the partners in their respective fields.
It also serves as a back-end repository for citizen-initiated requests on communication partner portals for action by partners.
DIP is accessible to stakeholders through secure connections and relevant information is shared based on their respective roles. The said platform is not available to citizens.
