ISRO:isro day: Big success for ISRO, successful test of fuel cell technology, know why it is important
Indian space agency ISRO has achieved great success. Actually, ISRO successfully tested fuel cell technology on Friday. This fuel cell technology is very important for ISRO's future missions and data collection. With the help of this technology, fuel can be recharged and it does not cause any emissions. This technology is most ideal for meeting energy needs in space and for drinking water.
Energy created with the help of hydrogen and oxygen
The Indian Space Agency on Friday successfully tested a 100-watt class Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell based Power System (FCPS) in space. ISRO had launched POEM with the PSLV-C58 mission on January 1. Now it was tested in space, which was successful. During this test, 180 watts of energy was generated in a high pressure vessel with the help of hydrogen and oxygen gas. ISRO said that with the help of fuel cell technology, energy was generated from hydrogen and oxygen gas. Besides, it provided drinking water and there was no emission.
Important in future missions including Gaganyaan
The purpose of this test is to test the technology in space, collect data and with the help of this data make necessary changes regarding fuel cell technology in the design of future space missions. Fuel cell technology is an electric generator that works on the electrochemical principle. Especially in the Gaganyaan mission, when Indian astronauts will stay in space for several days and conduct tests, then electric power, drinking water and energy will be generated with the help of fuel cell technology.
Fuel cell technology can also be used in vehicles
Considering the benefits of fuel cell technology, it is now being considered to use this technology instead of batteries in vehicles. This will not only allow conventional engines to be recharged quickly, but will also help in controlling emissions from vehicles to a great extent.
